MP: military choice in Anbar will complicate the crisis dramatically
BAGHDAD / NINA / MP, of the Motahedoon coalition, Salman al-Jumaili said betting on a military solution in Anbar would be folly and will complicate the crisis dramatically .
Jumaili, in a press statement, saw that ” any initiative to resolve the crisis in Anbar cannot succeed if it does not include stop shelling and air strikes on Fallujah and other neighborhoods first, and the return of displaced people , as well as keeping the army out of the areas of contact with citizens and then re local authorities to enforce security. ”
He added, ” there are great opportunities for a political solution, which would avoid civilian and army casualties ,” surprising from a position of some political forces and personalities which rejects a political solution and emphasize the security solution only, while the same forces were calling for a solution to the Syrian crisis since its inception through dialogue and political means . ”
He explained that ” worsening crisis and humanitarian and civilian casualties due to artillery shelling requires concerted efforts of all to accelerate resolve the crisis . ”
Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki , speaking in his weekly, on Wednesday talked about a new initiative adopted by the local government in Anbar province to solve the crisis.
