Early Election Results: Is Maliki out?

Stryker: According to some early election results, Maliki is out!

“State Law” (Maliki’s party) 67 seats

“State of Citizens” (Hakim’s party) 48 seats

“Conglomerate Liberal” (Council of the Sadrist) Hakim’s ally 33 seats

Note: Hakim/Sadr alliance gets a majority within the National Alliance Shiite a total 81 seats compared to Maliki’s 67

“Kurdistan Democratic Party” and its allies win 20 seats

“PUK” (the Kurds other party) 14 seats

“Movement for Change” Kurdish (Curran) 15 seats

“Uniting for Reform” led by Parliament Speaker Osama Najafi 33 seats

“National List” led by Iyad Allawi won 25 seats

“Reform Movement” led by Ibrahim al-Jaafari on 10 seats

“Arab List” led by Saleh al-Mutlaq on 10 seats

“Civil Democratic Alliance” and 10 seats

“The Virtue Party” 7 seats

With these new alliances Iraq will NOW have a real chance for Political and Economic Reform. The same things that the Iraqi Economic Reform Committee and the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq Abdul Basit Turki have stated was needed to raise the zeros and give more financial benefit to the value of the dinar.
