Njirvan Barzani: “Kurds not to divide Iraqi, but Maliki’s policies”

ARBIL: Kurdish Premier Njirvan Barzani charged Premier Nouri al-Maliki that his “policies will lead to divide Iraq, not the Kurds”.

During his attendance in the Kurdish Parliament to discuss the latest Iraqi developments, he added that “Maliki cut off the salaries of the Kurdish officials in the region”.

The meeting was to discuss the economic situation facing the Kurdish region.

On the oil question, Barzani elaborated that “there is no constitutional article that stipulates the dominance of Baghdad Marketing Company (SOMO) on the Kurdish oil exports”, stressing that “the Kurdsih region suggested exporting 100.000 b/d but Baghdad refused that”.

He added that “we hoped to solve all pending questions with Baghdad, but time passed without results”.
On the other hand, he confirmed that “our doors are open for further dialogues”.

Barzani disclosed that the Kurdish oil exports will continue till the end of this year, with expectations to increase the quantities.
