Monday Morning News Summaries by Aggiedad77 at KTFA

aggiedad77 » August 4th, 2014,   Monday Morning News Summaries

Just an FYI from me…..I always get up and scan the posts and the news to get somewhat up to date…..I can see this morning the news medias are still attempting to catch up to things…..they continue to hold tight to their “party lines” it seems…..which makes for some old news being stirred, some of the slop actually jumps over the edge of the brewing pot and gives cause to the fire crackling and popping and flaring at times. Be wary of those events and don’t get too close to things as yet.

Tomorrow .. announce the names of the Commission approving the budget and set a date meeting

If you are thinking….didn’t this committee get named weeks ago right after the new Speaker of the House was determined….rightfully so….one of his first actions….so the media said…..I find it especially interesting in looking for the Iraqi Parliament website…the official one….that the web tells us this account has been suspended…..as I would love to post the agenda for tomorrow’s meeting here…..it will be interesting none the less what tomorrow’s session will bring to us….still they talk of merging 2014 and 2015 budgets together…..one they can’t agree on, the other has yet to be written…total lack of organization IMO.

Guarantees Maliki to step down collide reject political and legal

Maliki continues in the press to appear as one who is either on the run, or about to flee…..but wants assurances that he can get through the airport on his way out of Dodge…..and they want you to think the National Alliance isn’t capable of deciding on a final candidate…..I’m of the opinion that both of these are smoke….it will be just a matter of time before the NA makes their announcement….maybe not publicly today…but to the Parliament/President who their candidate will be…..and I’m of the opinion that Maliki is about to mysteriously disappear for a while….meaning he will be whisked away on some Iraqi witness protection program equivalent….just expressing my opinion….M has too much at stake to stay put….his family is safely out of the country, for good reason and it isn’t because they fear a “Fullerbrush Man Terrorist” knocking on their door either…..Maliki’s pockets are getting so lined these days and have been lined for so many years by the US government that he looks like the Michelin Man when he walks.

The White House pledged to help Iraq to form a government partnership

The White House dances around Iraqi issues, being ever so delicate to not step on their own toes so a conflict can’t be created or perceived from their words…..they claim to want to help Iraq form a new government….but will not be involved….at least on the surface in who that government will consist of at this point….but they deeply desire a continued partnership….something they actually have failed at having since the pull out of all the US troops…..so they they dangle carrots in the form of equipment, fire power, ammunition and the like and a few F-16′s out in front of Iraq thinking “we are in control” of this situation….when the Iraqi’s just laugh and turn the other direction to talk to Russia.

Deputy: No legal safeguards to protect al-Maliki from prosecution

Protection for Maliki….sure thing….we will give you 50 meters….ok 100 meters….1, 2, 3 go…..the Constitution doesn’t speak to such safeguards….why is that….maybe because the Constitution was written by people who did not expect the widespread corruption that Maliki has created in 8 long years…..as it should be….whether charges are filed against Maliki is up to the people….Maliki wants his golden parachute with assurances that it will open for him….but he fears a pack filled with stones instead….after all what has he done to endear himself with any Iraqi citizen over the past 8 years.

Source: National Alliance blocks provided guarantees for owners

WalkingStick has done a great job of compiling a bunch of opinions regarding the future of Maliki…..from them it does appear to be politically bleak….no protection…..no support…..Iran turning their backs….US withholding support…religious sects clamoring for him to step down…..where is Maliki today…..he’s discovered a new game…..”Where in the World is Nouri al-Maliki” rules changing daily.

Sistani’s call: replaced your candidate for prime minister

As late as today, Monday, the cleric Sistani calls upon the Dawa Party…replace your candidate….however the State of Law coalition continues to act like the Captain of the Titanic…..I will go down with my ship….doesn’t matter how many leaks have sprung in the body…..we shall do the honorable thing and drown in our stupidity.

Tariq Harb: Almoisntin could be merged into one bill while retaining the independence of each budget

Merge 2014 and 2015 budgets…..how about just forgetting that 2014 ever existed…..start writing now on 2015 and get it out say in October so the new Parliament blood can vote on it and get it in place by January 2015….what a novel idea….after all you have proven that you can wander aimlessly in the dessert on a ship without a rudder for the past 8 months….what are another four months…..besides how much of the originally budgeted money still exists….remember Michelin Man’s pockets they continue to bulge….just write him off, push him out the door and focus on unity going forward….there….now that wasn’t so hard to fathom was it.

Telegram to the Governor of the Central Bank: Accept what the press writes

Ok Mcdan…..I saw your challenge this morning pertaining to this article….the news media is getting frustrated at the lack of response to their printed articles….their attempts at “journalism”…..and they feel their efforts are falling on deaf (clay and dough) ears…..they aren’t liking that Turki and flock don’t respond back to them in a way that will lend credence to their “writing skills”….I put this forward from over 30 years in corporate America…..the media will never…never…never give you a fair shake with your own words….they will twist your words and attempt to “make news” in the manner in which they believe will sell the story the best…..Turki is being a good poker player IMO…..he is holding a great “pat hand” that he knows to be a winner in every sense of the way…..and this drives the media insane…IMO…they are too ignorant to realize what he holds….so what MUST they do….but fabricate something of course…..rogue journalism at its grossest effort….or Maliki controlled…your choice….not much different than journalism in the US I will add…..who is teaching who?

Baghdad: Merge Moisntin confuse the economy, contrary to the Financial Administration Act

Confuse the public…..sure thing….let’s make sure we can keep them as confused as possible as to what is going on with the budget….sure we will continue to spend money in 2014….because we simply have the authority to do so….after all life goes on and even though Parliament in the past has struggled to find their way out of a wino’s paper bag….must have been the intoxicating vapors from the leftover MD2020….sure thing we can just estimate how much we “should have spent” and go on about business as usual….who is to stop us….in doing so why merge 2014 with 2015….what is left of 2014 monies to consider putting into 2015.

Parliament: Parliament session for tomorrow routine and focus only on the formation of committees

Look quickly….this is an article from a member of the State of Law….I am sure that in the next few minutes the content will change in some way…..tomorrow’s Parliament session….just a head down working effort as normal for them….nothing of any interest on the agenda….speaking of agenda’s….where the heck are you hiding that?…..as for a SOL member stating what the agenda for tomorrow will bring….well I have some beach front property in North Dakota for sale too.

Economists: the excesses of private banks to sell the dollar on the black market harms the national economy

This little old man and his bride walks into a bank, not a mainline bank…but still a bank….they look around, then move to teller number 3….as they have been instructed…..they push across pristine new passports and a bag of old and torn/worn IQD’s….we wish to exchange for USD they say….my wife is going to the US to study to be a Prime Minister you see….me?….oh I go with her to study finance to handle all the money that will pad her pockets….so USD please…..black market…what is that? Some people will go to great lengths when times get tough.

Leadership coalition of al-Maliki: the Strategic Framework Agreement with Washington “actually stopped”

SOFA….sure we bought a new deluxe model…..but what we received….it isn’t the model promised us back in 2008….see we were supposed to get excellent customer service with this sofa….but that has died on the vine ever since….well we were taught to be polite and not point fingers at someone like that….so we’ve sort of been window shopping since then….after all, we can take vacations too….and we have been introduced to some fine objects that seem to meet our needs very well, even though we don’t fully understand the operating instructions…..so…..is there a chance we could return this sofa thing….we still have the receipt.

Iraq’s Oil: A Factor for Unity or Division?

Don’t forget that we have a media to run….says the editor….we need to sell stories….I know this “oil thing” has been around the block so much it no longer has tread…but put it back out there again to fill in the dark holes…..Iraq has mucho oil….the world knows that….what the world is also learning is the capabilities of the Kurds to do with their own oil as they please….something that is not so pleasing to Baghdad….Baghdad wants the cake, the pie, the cobbler, and the ice cream too….sure here are a couple of forks….Kurds you may lick them clean…..we have unity when it comes to oil…..it is all Baghdads….not matter who expends the efforts to find it….suck it out of the ground and even pipeline it….no one….not anyone can be as greedy as Baghdad when it comes to oil…just ask them….meanwhile the US is saying….one thing publicly….sure we put no restrictions on the sale of Kurd oil itself….but lo those who attempt to buy….we will and do put sanctions upon you and yours…..heck the US almost….almost got the Kurd oil in the US so it could be impounded and credit given to….you guessed it….Baghdad…..save for a sharp ship’s captain though the oil was saved and sits in floating storage looking for other buyers….sure there is unity abounding in Baghdad….their way or the highway….isn’t that how unity is built.

Kurdistan to Washington officially: Don’t thank us, supply Kurdish Peshmerge army with weapons

We all know and recognize that talk is cheap…..that our government does much of that…talk…talk. talk….the Kurds are getting smart at this international chess board…and are now saying….ok, shut up already and just give us weapons, equipment and ammunition to fight the terrorists with…your thanks do not put beans on the table…enough talk.

Liberals: Jubouri asked infallible considered the biggest bloc, the National Alliance, and asked to form government

The Liberal bloc is being quoted as saying that if the State of Law is allowed to put its candidate Maliki forward tomorrow, it will be the biggest loser….well perhaps Maliki would be the biggest loser if his pockets are cleaned out…..the Liberal bloc recognizes the lack of support that Maliki has and also sees the National Alliance without Maliki as the biggest bloc who should be naming the PM position…..again we hear that new buzz word coming forward….unity….WOW this is Iraq after all….unity….time will tell.

Retirees in Kurdistan demanding facilitating the distribution of salaries across the smart card

Kurd retirees are demanding they be paid via the smart card…..they are no dummies….they can recognize a good thing when they see it….after all they have years of experience with not so good things.

Turkish officials: resume pumping oil to Iraqi Kurdistan port of Ceyhan

A sixth tanker….yes number 6 is on the high seas with Kurd oil in its holds….260,000 barrels of crude this time….about a quarter of a normal shipment when compared to the first 5 tankers…..no report of any buyers at this point….maybe just a three hour tour.

Transparency Initiative: Iraq is ranked among the advanced countries in the fight against corruption

Iraq is ranked highly by the National Transparency Initiative….really….this stems from their global war on financial and administrative corruption…..well….makes me wonder…..where someone else must rank then…..looking toward the bottom of the list.

Well what a representation of junk for this morning…..a comedy of news at best.

    millionday] NOTE — THEY HAVE TO FACTOR THE REALITY OF WHAT HAS BEEN MADE ON OIL AND WHAT HAS BEEN USED AND WHAT HAS BEEN OWED DUE TO THE CREDIT ON WEAPONS AND WHAT WAS NEEDED TO PROTECT THEMSELVES AND THEIR BORDERS
~~~
     [millionday] supported this trend Rep. and therefore must relay sums of money from the province to the other to enable them to provide humanitarian aid and services to those displaced
    [millionday] NOTE — THEY ARE MEANING THAT SOME KURDISTAN PEOPLE AND IRAQI PEOPLE HAVE BEEN DISPLACED DUE TO THE SITUATION SO THEY HAVE TO ALSO FACTOR IN ALL OF THAT –
    millionday] NOTE — AS SAID HERE — THEY NEED TO VOTE IT THROUGH AND THEN WORK ON IT TO CALCULATE WHAT THEY NEED TO CHANGE FOR THE FOLLOWING BUDGET –
IT WOULD THEN INCLUDE FINAL ACCOUNTS AND WOULD BE TRANSFERED AS REVENUES AND THEY WOULD MOVE FORWARD AS QUICK AS THEY NEED TO
 to enable specialists to deal with them or answer any question because the parliament is constitutionally and legally can not have to contend with a caretaker government,
they also demand a change in materials unfair, especially to the Kurdistan region after that have been deprived of their share since the beginning of the year which led to the non-distribution of salaries of the staff of the province for more of 3 months.
    [millionday] SO AS WE SEE THE KURDS DONT LIKE THE IDEA BUT IT HAS TO BE DONE IN ORDER TO MOVE FORWARD AND MAKES SENSE AND CAN BE DONE
    [millionday] SO WE MAY HAVE A BUDGET ON TUESDAY
    [ol lar] thought they said aug 12th
He said the “absence of an element of transparency in the show disbursements for the current year is considered a major obstacle in the late adoption of the budget in 2014 in addition to the existence of problems about the budget of the Kurdistan region and others.”
with likely coalition of state law, the possibility of merging the budgets of the years 2014 current and 2015, the next package one, in light near the end of the current parliament, while ruled Kurdistan Alliance and senior adviser to the prime minister and a legal expert that “the lack of compatibility “with the Constitution and the law.
has favored the deputy of the State of Law coalition, headed by Nouri al-Maliki, that is “the integration of the budgets of the years 2014 current and 2015, the next, because the legislative session is almost over,” denying that “the reason for delaying the adoption of the budget in 2014.”
said Abbas al-Bayati , in an interview earlier “long”, that “the few days remaining on the age of the legislative session will not allow the adoption of the general budget,” noting that “indicators suggest the possibility of merging the budget in 2014 with those of the year 2015 next year.”
Al-Bayati said, “The executive power If you decide to send the budgets of 2014 and 2015, the House of Representatives will consider them, “returned to the” coalition of the rule of law does not assume responsibility for delaying the budget because it called on everyone to attend the meetings of the Council for discussion. ”
It is noteworthy that the current legislative session ends in (the 14 of June 2014 Current) .
, but a deputy from the Kurdistan Alliance, counting “merging the budgets of 2014 and 2015 in one package violates the Constitution and the law,” expected “sharpen the differences within parliament on the subject.”
said Mahma Khalil, in an interview to the “long”, it was “not possible constitutionally and legally merge the budgets of the year 2014 current and 2015, the next, “returned to” the next parliament could approve the budget of 2014 the current, and then those of the year which followed. ”
    [mrref1216] MD can I bring in some news on Maliki and get your comments?
    [millionday] sure lets see it hun
    [mrref1216] Massoum: ‘If I am pressured to nominate a candidate, I will not hesitate to step down.’ Photo: AFP BAGHDAD, Iraq – Iraq’s newly-elected President Fouad Massoum warned the country’s parliament that he would step down if the parties failed to nominate a candidate for the post of prime minister.
“I was elected president by all the Iraqi factions,” Massoum told representatives. “And I would never nominate anyone for the post of prime minister without all parties’ consent and blessing.”
The president warned: “if I am pressured to nominate a candidate, I will not hesitate to step down.” Rudaw has learned that Iraq’s acting Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki has urged Massoum to nominate him “since he represents the largest coalition in the parliament.”
    [mrref1216] The president has reportedly declined Maliki’s appeal and said he would not use his presidential powers to nominate anyone “without the clear support of all Iraqi factions.”
 Iraq’s parliament elected Massoum as the new president last week. In line with the country’s constitution, the president should assign the prime minister to form a new cabinet.
Sources told Rudaw that the Shiite State of the Law was among the first factions to submit a petition to the president to nominate Maliki for the post.
According to Iraq’s constitution, the prime minister should be elected from the largest coalition group in the parliament. The Shiite parties hold most of the seats in the national assembly but have so far not announced any major coalitions. The State of the Law with 93 seats has insisted on nominating Maliki as the sole Shiite candidate.
    [mrref1216] The Kurdish and Sunni factions have absolutely rejected a third term for Maliki. Even within the Shiite parties, Muqtada al-Sadr and his powerful bloc have spoken against the embattled prime minister,
 as has the Shiite Grand Ayatollah Ali Sistani, who has appealed to Maliki not to run for a third term.
With the president and parliament speaker elected last month — as the country is in the throes of a massive Sunni rebellion and with a third of the country in the hands of jihadi-led rebels –
a decision on the prime minister is the only hurdle standing in the way of Iraq forming a new government. ===================== http://rudaw.net/eng…t ··· 01082014
    [millionday] well my opinion is that they have the right president
    [mrref1216] So he’s is not out of the picture
    [millionday] if he is not going to use his powers to place who he wants without the go ahead from all parties that speaks highly of his character — he has the right but wants all to agree and the fact that maliki bagged him does not surprise me and actually lets me know that he is afraid he is out
    [millionday] he states that if he is backed into a corner without the pm being placed by all he will not remain in his position –
 i dont believe he would leave such an honor as it is but — to say that and demand the work to be done is a huge change from where they were with the past gov
    [mrref1216] MD thank you for your comments, appreciated.
    [millionday] we have watched huge respect given to all of the candidates so it doesnt seem to be a problem to me — either one of them are very respected
    [millionday] yw all the time
    [millionday] i say watch the money — i know the gov is important but watch the money it has to roll and i would not be shocked if they follow the constitutional deadline as we have seen that as a pattern lately
    [mrref1216] That would be nice
    [millionday] like i said on the call — the only one that has good to say about him is himself so that cant be good
    [mrref1216] OK I’m back on the streets you guys have a great afternoon.
    [millionday] if you did into other country news you will find the same — in the region or out — he is blamed for the problems and should have resolved them before they got to this point
    [millionday] you too hun have a great day and be safe
    [mrref1216] thanks
    [millionday] let me see if anything else is out yet   brb
    [millionday] it is very hard to understand why they are arguing about this
    [millionday] Head of Kurdistan Democratic Party parliamentary bloc MP Ardalan Noureddine announced that the President of the republic is constitutionally obliged to nominate the candidate of the largest parliamentary bloc to form a government,
stressing that the differences with the out-going Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki are not of personal nature, rather because of his policies and decisions.
He said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency / Nina / today: “The biggest bloc which is the National Alliance is entitled to form a government after tasked by the President of the Republic
    [millionday] so with that said lets just meet back here at newstime and see what else we find
– i would love to know what cbi has been up to
    [millionday] national alliance is the largest block — so we will look at the loads of news we will have tonight and see you at 730 est
One site gave this advice, “Get your first financial advising job at a bank.”
LICENSING AND REGULATION (This helps you understand how your advisor is qualified, so it behooves you to study this part, dry though it is. It also directs you toward the right individual for your needs.)
SECURITIES LICENSES: These include registered representative (RR) or an investment advisor; in either case the first step is obtaining the proper securities license. The license needed is determined by several factors, such as the type of investments to be sold, method of compensation and the scope of services that will be provided.
 Those who intend to hold themselves out to the public as Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs) must register with the state they do business in if their assets under management are less than $25 million ($100M in some states), or with the SEC if the assets exceed $25 or $100 million. Registered Investment Advisors do not need to associate themselves with a broker-dealer.
FINRA Licensing
The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) oversees all securities licensing procedures and requirements. This self-regulatory organization administers many of the exams that must be passed to become a licensed financial professional. It also performs all relevant disciplinary and record-keeping functions.
FINRA offers several different types of licenses needed by both representatives and supervisors. Each license corresponds to a specific type of business or investment. While there are several licenses geared toward specific types of securities, there are three general licenses that the majority of representatives and advisors usually obtain:
Series 6
The Series 6 license is known as the limited-investment securities license. It allows its holders to sell “packaged” investment products such as mutual funds, variable annuities and unit investment trusts (UITs). The Series 6 exam is 135 minutes long, and covers basic information regarding packaged investments, securities regulations and ethics.
This license is also required for insurance agents that sell variable products of any kind, because securities constitute the underlying investments within those products.  Principals who supervise representatives holding a Series 6 license must obtain the Series 26 license in addition to having already obtained the Series 6.
Series 7
The Series 7 license is known as the general securities representative (GS) license. It authorizes licensees to sell virtually any type of individual security. This includes common and preferred stocks; call and put options; bonds and other individual fixed income investments; as well as all forms of packaged products (except for those that also require a life insurance license to sell). The only major types of securities or investments that Series 7 licensees are not authorized to sell are commodities futures, real estate and life insurance.
The Series 7 exam is by far the longest and most difficult of all the securities exams. It lasts for six hours and covers all aspects of stock and bond quotes and trading; put and call options; spreads and straddles; ethics; margin and other account holder requirements; and other pertinent regulations.
Those who carry this license are officially listed as “registered representatives” by FINRA, but they are generally referred to as stockbrokers. Many insurance agents and other types of financial planners and advisors also carry the Series 7 license to facilitate certain types of transactions inherent in their businesses. Principals of general representatives must also obtain the Series 24 license.
Series 3
The Series 3 license authorizes representatives to sell commodity futures contracts, which are generally considered the riskiest publicly traded investments available. Representatives that carry the Series 3 license tend to specialize in commodities and often do little or no other business of any type.
The Series 3 exam is approximately 120 minutes long and covers all forms of commodities transactions, options, hedging, margin requirements and other regulations. An offshoot of this license is the Series 31 license, which allows representatives to sell managed futures (pooled groups of commodities futures similar to mutual funds).
NASAA Licensing
Not all securities licenses are administered by FINRA. The North American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA) oversees the licensing requirements of three key licenses:
Series 63
The Series 63 license, known as the Uniform Securities Agent license, is required by each state and authorizes licensees to transact business within the state. All Series 6 and Series 7 licensees must carry this license as well. The provisions of the Uniform Securities Act are tested on the 75-minute exam.
Series 65
 The Series 65 license is required by anyone intending to provide any kind of financial advice or service on a non-commission basis. Financial planners and advisors that provide investment advice for an hourly fee fall into this category, as do stockbrokers or other registered representatives that deal with managed-money accounts.
Series 66
This Series 66 is the newest exam offered by NASAA. In essence, it combines the Series 63 and 65 exams into one 150-minute exam. This test contains no investment material, as the Series 66 license is only available to candidates that are already Series 7 licensed.
A NOTE ON PRIVATE BANKING
Private banking is banking, investment and other financial services provided by banks to private individuals who enjoy high levels of income or invest sizable assets. The term “private” refers to customer service rendered on a more personal basis than in mass-market retail banking, usually via dedicated bank advisers. It does not refer to a private bank, which is a non-incorporated banking institution.
Private banking forms an important, high-level and more exclusive (for the especially affluent) subset of wealth management. At least until recently, it largely consisted of banking services (deposit taking and payments), discretionary asset management, brokerage, limited tax advisory services and some basic concierge-type services, offered by a single designated relationship manager. Taking a largely passive approach to financial decision making, most clients trust their private banking relationship manager to ‘get on with it.’
Private banking is the way banking originated. The first banks in Venice were focused on managing personal finance for wealthy families. Private banks became known as ‘Private’ to stand out from the retail banking & savings banks aimed at the new middle class. Traditionally, Private Banks were linked to families for several generations. They often advised and performed all financial & banking services for families.
Private banking and wealth management rankings
According to Euromoney’s annual Private banking and wealth management ranking 2013, which consider (amongst other factors) assets under management, net income and net new assets, global private banking assets under management grew just 10.8%YoY (compared with 16.7% ten years ago).[14]
TAX PROFESSIONALS:
Different Kinds of Tax Professionals
Before you start your search, you might be wondering about all the different kinds of tax pros out there or who can do your taxes. Basically, anyone can call himself a tax preparer and file your return for you. There are two types of tax professionals, though, that are probably most appropriate for you and most people: certified public accountants and enrolled agents. Both types can represent you before the IRS in case you get audited.
Certified public accountants or CPAs are accountants who have passed qualifying state exams and met specific education and experience requirements for that title. Not all CPAs are experts on income taxes, though, so when looking for someone to prepare your return, you’ll want to ask about the CPA’s experience in handling individual taxes. A benefit of going with a CPA is these financial pros may be able to help you with other financial situations like estate planning or financial planning in addition to doing your taxes.
Enrolled agent or EA is a tax professional licensed by the IRS through a special enrollment exam or after working for the IRS for five years. EAs may specialize in specific tax areas, so be sure to ask what his or her area of expertise is. The benefit of using an enrolled agent is that these people live and breathe taxes (they’re required to take continuing education courses in taxes every three years), and, generally speaking, may charge less than CPAs.
OTHER Tax Preparers
You have two other main choices for tax preparers—tax attorneys and tax preparation chains such as H&R BLock,—but I don’t believe they make sense here. Tax attorneys are best for handling complex tax disputes and corporate matters, rather than preparing individual returns.  They are also good at ferreting out the legal issues of tax questions. Your CPA will likely have a referral for you.
TAX ATTORNEY
When Do You Need a Tax Attorney? Tax attorneys are lawyers who specialize in the complex and technical field of tax law. Tax attorneys are best for handling complex, technical, and legal issues.
You definitely need a tax attorney if:
You have a taxable estate, need to make complex estate planning strategies, or need to file an estate tax return.
You are starting a business and need legal counsel about the structure and tax treatment of your company.
You are engaging in international business and need help with contracts, tax treatment, and other legal matters.
You plan to bring a suit against the IRS.
You plan to seek independent review of your case before the US Tax Court.
You are under criminal investigation by the IRS.
You have committed tax fraud (such as claiming false deductions and credits) and need the protection of privilege.
What you should look for Tax attorneys must have a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and must be admitted to the state bar . Those are the minimum requirements for practicing law. Additionally, tax attorneys should have advanced training in tax law. Most will have a master of laws (LL.M.) degree in taxation.
Some tax attorneys also have a background in accounting. If you are facing a complex accounting as well as legal matter, you might want to looking for an attorney who is also a Certified Public Accountant.
Questions to ask
Is the attorney admitted to the state bar?
What does the tax attorney specialize in?
How much does the attorney charge?
Can the attorney help you with your tax case?
If not, can the attorney refer you to another tax attorney who can help you?
ESTATE ATTORNEY
An Estate attorney is also known as a Probate Lawyer. A probate lawyer is a type of state licensed attorney who, through years of mentoring, continuing legal education and experience, understands how to advise Personal Representatives, also known as Executors, and the beneficiaries of an estate on how to settle all of the final affairs of a deceased person, known as a decedent.
Hopefully none of us will need an Estate Attorney any time soon.  However, Estate attorneys also frequently also do Estate planning from a taxation vantage point so they know how to set things up properly to avoid Probate issues upon death.  It is a small community so Tax Attorneys typically know the Estate Attorneys in your area.
Get a referral because there are many “ambulance chaser” type probate lawyers who use cookie cutter plans, not one devised for your needs & objectives.
 UU9123 -  “We’re In The Money”
Hi Everyone,
 I come to you today to give you a recent update on the election process and how this relates towards the international rollout of the IQD for Iraq. The news was very good once again.
 This is a time of great anticipation and expectation for our exchange.
 If you have not read my previous news letter from Weds 7/30,  I encourage you to first read it. Today’s news letter, as in all my news letters, is a continuation of the ongoing saga of the IQD RV process.
Today’s News
….
It is Friday 8/1 already and all the news from Iraq is very good.
 2014 Budget News- I was told today that the new Iraq president now has the 2014 budget and has ratified it. It will be announced in the gazette publicly next week, however they plan to open it and begin spending it only once the new government is completed.
 How can they do this without an RV’d rate?
So the pressure is on to complete the government since there is much unrest beginning in Iraq over the stalling of the government formation and the lack of funding the government programs. It is critical to now open the budget and fund these programs. How can they do this without an RV’d rate?
 Since my last news letter I have also learned that the Council of Ministers is all hand picked and all they need is a final vote in parliament for the new prime minister to head the council.
 The PTB are not about to let the same shenanigans take place with the ministries that Maliki played  in his game of power in the last election period of 2010. In this election these ministers will all be seated before any significant change in the currency occurs. I have heard this repeatedly from many sources and this is the plan.
 As I have described in my last news letter there are 5 nominees for the position of PM. I am hearing there is a single candidate from the National Alliance that is favored and he will basically go against the candidate from the State of Law Coalition. This final vote should  happen anywhere between now and/or on Aug 5th.  Note: I did not say the RV was going to happen in this timeframe
One other new tidbit this week also occurred that really took me off guard. I learned that on Tuesday July 29th Iraq is officially is now a full member to the World Trade Organization (WTO).
What does this mean?
This is just another indicator we are so close to the final rollout of the international RV of the IQD.
Can’t be a member of the WTO without an international tradable currency (one that reflects the true asset backed value of the country).
 I have always believed that the RV needed a weekend to sync up with the banks and allow down time to push out all the needed files downstream and necessary rates to the monetary exchanges and trading platforms.
I do believe whole heartedly there is an extremely high probability this may occur in the coming weekend of  8/8 – 8/10.
 Of course no knows the date or rate of the rollout, however we can look at the evidencse of chances taking place and see that it is not far away.
 We should however not to expect to be at the banks exchanging prior to the final announcements of the new prime minister and the rest of his council (cabinet). This is something to watch for on the TV.
Probably will be on CNN or FOX News in the USA.
Summary
 So today’s news is all very, very good news once again.
 The amazing tidbits of news from this week are extremely important and encouraging  as we have been waiting for this news all along. These are indicators as to just how close Iraq really is in realizing the true value of their currency on the international markets.
 These tidbits  included
1) the news about the nominees for the prime minister position,
2) the news about the 2014 budget being passed and ratified,
3) the full membership to the WTO 4) the nearness of voting for the prime minister and completing their new government
 So this week was amazing. Like cleaning up many loose ends prior to the dawn of a new Iraq. Be patient though since it is taking much more time than we all want, since we as small investors are not really significant and there is a much larger plan being played out and it is dynamic.
We were told over a week ago that the would conduct their next parliament session on Aug 5th however we know they are conducting sessions each day.
What they meant is the new session would open. They are completing this ongoing session.
The new session will bring us the voting of the prime minister, the first item on the agenda.
 We all know the big money that is made over war. Some say no one ever prospers over war except the very wealthy who start the war. This is only partially true. Some wars are necessary and someone has to finance them. As we know the rule of finance is to make a profit on money loaned. So we hear about the munitions and arms sales, the Halliburton deals for supporting the troops, etc, etc in the Iraq war.
However in this situation in this war the real money making begins once the troops pull out and the RV occurs.
There will be an RV and it will occur very soon.
It has just stalled over the last 4 years and if you have been reading my news letters over the last year you know why (Maliki syndrome).
 There are many that say they want to roll this RV out by the end of July. Well…today is Aug 1st so where is the RV?  All the tidbits of news we witnessed this week are telling us  we are soooo very close. I believe there was a target for July. I am not hearing of any new target as it is now a day by day event watching for political success in Iraq.
 If you have been reading my news letters seriously over the last year you know I have published many personal tips of mine on how to approach the bank on the exchange, safe guard your wealth and privacy and how to handle the personal wealth managers.
 Please go back to the Mnt Goat archives and re-read some of these news letters. They will help you. I am not a financial advisor so please consult with professionals that handle large sums of money for investment and do it for a living.
Here is a brief list of those you want on your team of advisors:
 Tax Attorney (pay fair share of Federal, State and Local taxes, plan for future tax savings)
 Estate Attorney (setting up legal entities i.e. trusts,  foundations, LLC, etc…advice on how to handle an estate, self preservation and legal protection)
 Certified CPA (10 or more years experience handling large estates)
 Wealth Manager (Private vs Bank provided, what are their fees or commissions? )
 There is really nothing much more to say at this time other than to sing along with the money song: Enjoy, Relax and Wait !
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PbPqr9O5opI
I want to emphasize once again this final announcement  of the IQD going international will not happen until the USA feels the Iraq government is stable, non-sectarian and is a functional government.
This is has been the plan all along. They may have wavered a bit on how the plan was implemented but the overall plan guidelines have not changed.
 Peace and Luv To Ya All,
 Mnt Goat
Tlar & Friends Q & A With Comments Part 2
Tlar & Friends Q & A With Comments From Updated Email To Family & Friends Part 2
Jonathan Simmons:        Thanks for your response but I’m still not getting an answer to my specific question. If you or anyone knows please Are there assurances given to the NA that Badr’s (or any other) bloc can pull a switcheroo and vote for the SOL once the voting commences.
 Is it possible that this could be part of a ruse to think the NA now has the numbers and lead them into thinking the NA’s candidate will win when in reality they vote for Maliki?
Just because they vote for NA in the bloc voting doesn’t mean they have to come the actual vote in Parliament. Is there something Badr would have had to sign to lock his support in place?
~~~

RDiddy:  I may be wrong, but I believe that the POR is going to call on the NA to nominate their one candidate, and that person (and his COM) are going to get a yes or no vote.  This isn’t a multiple choice vote.   But let’s get some other opinions on this.

Tlar:   old, I’m not sure but I believe you maybe confusing the process of the NA and parliament.  When the NA hones the 5 to one, they will take the one to parliament.

 Most likely  it will be a two step process within the coalition.  The coalition will first decide amongst themselves who they want probably by secret ballot, then they will present the nominees to the NA floor for an up or down vote with the coalition voting in locked step specifically for their guy.

 So no matter who the SOL runs, if the coalition has over 90 MP’s (half plus 1) all voting in locked step it is all over.  It is my belief they will have way more than 90 but that is yet to be seen.  So the SOL can really put up anybody they want.  It makes no difference.

The coalition in my mind is leaving nothing to chance on this.  There will be no vote until they are sure they have the numbers and have decided on their one guy to back.

The coalition is in process of sorting out their nominee internally within the coalition only, Chalabi or Mahdi.

That most likely will be done just as Kurds did it, secret ballot within coalition not the NA.  ‘

Once the coalition has decided on their one guy then the vote will take place in the NA.  Then the NA at large will go to parliament with one nominee only.

Everything I have mentioned above is taking place in the NA only and once they identify that nominee, then al-jubouri will hold parliament and Masum will ask the NA who is their nominee and then Masum announce the new Shia nominee for PM.  tlar

KJ Wayne:  Jonathan, to answer your question and be sure about it ,I would have to say NO. This is Iraq and nothing is assured over there. After years of being in this ride and learning as I went, I would bet that Badr is OUT of the SOL,period. Signing stuff in Iraq don’t mean squat. It will be settled when the NA votes for one and only one.Then that one has to pass the test in parliament or do it again.

Oldwazhisname:   Thanks Tlar, that is what I was saying, albeit less elegantly.  Could you also clarify that the mere naming a a PM candidate is not the “formation of the GOI”?

Wouldn’t that only be after the PM elect has publicly presented his list of ministers of government and after the Parliment has voted in favor of that list of total ministers?

Also, is there any dickering that goes on to replace a given governmental minister with another or is that all part of the process of bargaining for votes in the first place?

Is it possible, if say the SOL says , okay in order to have say Mahdi as NA’s PM candidate, we want our guy as Defense Minister.  Can that guy be stripped out of the list or is it “an all or nothing” kind of situation?

Tlar:       oldwazhisname,  it is not a legal government until the up or down vote on the nominees picks for the ministries and the COM.  Only then do we have the complete “change” and a new government..

Not until the new PM presents his government ministers and COM is it considered a new seated government because this part has to be done by a vote in the parliament.

Once the ministers are known along with the COM, the PM elect will present them to parliament for a up or down vote.

The new PM constitutionally has to provide these names within 30 days to accomplish this.

He doesn’t have to take all 30 days but he can’t take longer.

Then parliament has to have a majority up or down vote on his government.  If it is a down vote meaning more vote no to his list, then the POR will pick another nominee for the PM position and the process starts all over again.

Allawi in 2010 stated he was ready to go if picked as the nominee and could seat a government within 48 hours.

Maliki never did seat his government choosing to keep all security ministries under his control which was his first violation of the constitution which he then preceded to violate over and over for the next 8 years.

It will be different this time as Iraq has seen the value of a constitution and has actually started using it as a tool of proof.

 It is my belief that once a PM nominee is chosen, that his picks are already done and the Kurds and Sunni’s already have negotiated with him as to what ministries they will get.

In other words his government will be voted on a few days after he is nominated and its outcome is predetermined and pre-negotiated with all sects in the coalition.

I also believe That Turki will see the government as settled upon the NA picking of a nominee that is acceptable to all and won’t wait for the ministries to be announced.

 I could be wrong and Turki might want to see the government seated first, but because this should have already been over and the year is slipping by, I believe he is anxious to get going with monetary change.  Tlar

Tlar:   PS it is also my belief that Turki’s definition of the term settled means that the government is basically decided. ‘

 At the point the NA choose a nominee either Chalabi or Mahdi, in my mind it is a forgone conclusion Maliki is out and a new government will be in.

 I personally think the monetary change is so late now that Turki may decide its over and settled even though not seated.  I am very hopeful he will pull the trigger here but am fully cognizant he may wait until that government is finished and seated.

It is kind of like the term largest block.  Once that was concluded and defined to be the NA, everything else has fallen into position to finish this process.

The word settled is a loose term only to be defined in Turki’s mind.  So it’s a best guess that I am making at best.  Tlar

Jaxjags:   Also,……while waiting on the GOI Turki has not stop with pushing the Monetary Reform. Most recently, the CBI signed a contract with VISA/MasterCard. IMO……….the CBI is ready to complete this.

OMG…………….Turki has already said this!!!!

Gorwell:  What at great thread. Thank you to everyone.Waiting…Cautiously optimistic!

Does anyone know how many totally comprise the COM?

Are ALL the positions specifically named positions like: Minister of Defense, Minister of Security, etc. or are some positions generic positions? Thanks,  Gorwell

Oldwazhisname:   Tlar, Great response and expansion on the fine points.  Much appreciated for you taking the time to so completely explain your perspective on this.  Thank you.

BlueyesinLevis:  Great thread. Really educational… good questions.. great replies… nice back and forth. This really has become a top notch group.

I’ll take a wild guess at how many form the CoM..for some reason.. it sticks in my mind…that I remember the number 30.I BELIEVE there are 30 members of the CoM. Bueller?

 DeekonMoses:   Hello Blue, I thought the PM’s Cabinet/COM consisted of 40 ministers and 4 of those were soveren ministries.

If I remember correctly back in 2010 after Iraq held their general elections, Maliki’s opposition decided to give their support to him because of the “Barzoni Initiative,” that initiative consisted of the Kurds 40 Points, the Strategic Counsel Planning, and the Kurds were suppose to get/head one of the 4 soveren ministries which was of the security/military ministries etc,

This was the Barzoni Initiative commonly known today as the Erbil Agreement.

After Maliki got parliaments vote of confidence to be the PM “candidate” he was now allowed to “present” his cabinet before parliament to get their vote of confidence for his cabinet.

 Maliki presented all of them very quickly except the four soveren ministries, those four soveren ministries never got parliaments vote of confidence because Maliki kept them and the Barzani Initiative/Erbil Agreement never got “implemented” or saw the light of day etc.

You know the rest of the story. LOL. I could be wrong, that info is just off the top of my head and it has been a while; I would have to dig up my notes but I believe it’s 40 COM, and that 40 includes the 4 soveren ministries too.

DeekonMoses:                 Actually, I think you were right blue. It is 30. LOL. IDK

BlueyesinLevis:   Deek… what you wrote sheds a lot of light on it.. and if it is 40 or 30.. so be it. I don’t care what the number is.. just looking forward them seating the dang charactors

I also had in mind that there were key Ministers, specificly Defense and Security, that were not part of the CoM…. and you alluded to that as well. -Like I said before.. we have a good group here.

Wednesday News Summaries by Aggiedad77 at KTFA

aggiedad77 » July 30th, 2014,   Wednesday News Summaries

Keep in mind Family…..left-handed theory and opinion at work here….enjoy though….it is what it is.

U.S. judge says Kurdish tanker near Texas out of court’s jurisdiction

She loves me….she loves me not….she loves me…..well now the very same judge who Tuesday morning issued the confiscation order for the Kurd oil sitting in the Gulf of Mexico south of Galveston…..has basically rescinded her original order, saying the oil is out of the jurisdiction of her court…..bully the captain of this tanker to be in the right spot.

The Supreme Council, Al-Maliki retract his third mandate

Well this article is full of “mights” and other little innuendos that could bring about false promises and intents…..will Maliki step aside…..my answer to that is simply a NO…..IMO he will go digging and scratching, and screaming from the tops of his lungs….if he is able to scream…..but he will not just simply step down, not on his own accord anyway. Like the lion on the hunt that has once tasted the blood…..Maliki has tasted the “power” and likes what it brings to him…..be wary of this man, all costs be very wary of him.
….

News of Badr to join the National Coalition

Ok, where to start believing articles and where to end belief in them…..Badr is a Shiite with strong Iranian ties…..for him to cross over to the “National Coalition” would be a major coup……I think this article is in error….a very bad error….IMO he may have moved for sure….but where he landed was probably the “National Alliance” not the other….don’t confuse the two….yes if this is so it would weaken the State of Law and M even more….while strengthening the National Alliance.

National Alliance bloc: signals indicate a decline Maliki for adhering to a third term

I hear banjos playing somewhere in the background…..conflicting articles dueling with each other…..just more of the same….that the National Alliance may get some strengthening…..while the State of Law support continues to erode.

The Ministry of Finance begins to prepare the budget for next year

Cautiously welcoming suggestions of a 2015 budget…..hey…..don’t get ahead of yourself…..that 2014 budget is laying there somewhere on your table…..unless of course your Harry Reid person pushed it into the trash before leaving office….remember there must be some resolution between the Kurds and Baghdad before the budget can be approved…..what is that? do we hear of something in the works….oh wouldn’t that be a nice Christmas in July surprise….hurry last day for shopping.

Pending Sumaidei: Maliki deputies in the House of Representatives to change my.

Ok, let’s see a show of hands……how many here think or believe that we will see Maliki as a member of Parliament….go ahead raise them high so we can get a full an accurate count….anyone….someone….says much for this “political analyst”….must have cut his teeth at MSNBC….so a high level janitor whispered in this analysts ear as they were passing at the rest room door that Maliki would be an MP….errand boy…..page…..ok, I’m searching for a role he might be qualified for….just thinking out loud here……my disbelief meter seems to be frozen in a sub-zero believability state on this one.

PM Nomination Trouble in Iraq

The Iraqi Constitution controls who will be Prime Minister…..sounds like a slam dunk thing doesn’t it…..NOT…..the Constitution is a complicated document apparently…..then the Federal Court was forced to get involved back in 2010 remember when things didn’t go as Maliki planned then….and now yet again he is attempting to get them involved again….and it is the same issue but in reverse this time….but that is another article and opinion…..but one thing the court has managed to do is muddy the waters even more so than what has been accomplished in the Constitution…..they have established a cut-off date for formation of blocs and that date is allegedly the day the new Parliament sits….

interesting concept that has been kept relatively quiet up to now….here is something to twirl around in your Funk&Wagnall for a while…..instructions for the President….Masum….first he must identify a bloc and a candidate….if a bloc, regardless of their size has no candidate to put forth, they become irrelevant to President Masum….this may be leading up to an issue for the National Alliance…..do they have a single candidate to offer to President Masum…..or have they sat on their thumbs too long….

if this is true and the National Alliance becomes irrelevant in this pursuit of a proper PM…..the State of Law then becomes the largest bloc WITH A CANDIDATE….Maliki I hate to admit. That is scary…..but the National Alliance actually has until August 8 to declare their candidate…..so all is not lost….but the National Alliance must get its act together and drop a name in the lap of President Masum very soon.

Now if Maliki should somehow get his size 15 shoes in the door, is it a done deal at that point….not quite….he will be told to form his government and after doing so that government must be approved by Parliament….and we all know the pulse of Parliament’s majority right now when it comes to Maliki…..if he should fail….then President Masum’s shoulders just got bigger and much more important….because the Constitution puts the pressure on him by simply stating that the President “will find a new candidate”…..that would open up a whole new can of fresh worms…..anyone want to go fishing? It will be up to Masum at that point to put forth a candidate that he believes will be politically correct and his selection an absolute majority vote to be declared Prime Minister….will we get to this point….somehow I seriously doubt it….but it could plausibly happen….after all this is Iraq.

U.S. judge says cannot seize Kurdish crude for now

Well as we kind of thought….the judge was outside her jurisdiction when she made the original ruling to confiscate the oil….did someone mention 15 minutes of fame on the CC last night or did I just dream that….TADA…..yes here is the US stepping in to put some hurt on the Kurds…..the Kurds who are doing what Baghdad can’t and won’t do….market their oil effectively….IMO….the Kurds are working hard to become a pimple on the international market but there are some who tend to see them more as a boil….too sad….at least the Kurds are trying….but why even try to do anything with the US at this point….they are in bed with Baghdad, a well known fact…..there are plenty of other buyers around the world who would not act in such cowardly fashion. Did anyone hear of the great dust storm over Baghdad….well neither did I but I have heard that dust is settling….maybe they fumigated Maliki’s office….and when the dust settles, there should be a greater cooperative effort between the Kurds and Baghdad than seen before….so maybe this whole sale of their oil will soon become a moot point.

State of Law: the religious authority supports the people’s choice

“The people are clinging to Maliki for a third term”……..now this may just earn an Iraqi “Lie of the Year”…..taken away from the US……I believe they have their wording a bit convoluted….it is the religious authority who says let the new PM be the people’s choice….but in the same breath they also say it must not be Maliki…..I don’t have the resources that Frank has with his Team….but I see Maliki as a newly whipped bully in town, one that is too stupid to leave…..before charges are pressed that would prevent him from leaving….just my left-handed opinion…..Maliki and his thugs are just politicians…..they will lie at the drop of a hat if they believe there is benefit in it for them…..don’t put much stock in an article like this….IMO….someone is offering the same thing I am….an opinion.

Parliament sends a modified version of the budget bill to the government for approval

The issue that I have with this action…..is they are sending it to Maliki’s government…..my vote would have been to hang onto it for say another 13 or so days then submit….but it seems Parliament believes they will get this back from the COM next week sometime and be ready to vote on the amendments….makes one rub the right temple….Arsenio Hall like and go hmmmmm….what is it they have done to the budget that the previous Parliament could not do. Same channel next week to see what if anything happens in this arena.

Infallible: the current stage need the cooperation of all parties to overcome the political crisis

Cooperation, Crisis, Success…..buzz words of the day it seems, meanwhile congratulations continue to pour in to President Masum under the guise of well wishes, we have Hadi al-Amiri stopping by to tip the turban and wish success to all Iraqi people….looking for the “right atmosphere” that will assure success….success of what…..I’m glad you asked….of the political process…to me….

here goes my left-handed opinions again…..it seems there is some underlying currents here….the Badr organization is offering full support to President Masum….this support appears to be surfacing outside of the realm of the State of Law coalition….more in line with the National Alliance….and repeatedly flags “current political crisis”…..the Speaker of Parliament has been elected….the President of the Republic has been elected…..Parliament itself is seated….so what crisis would be left…..oh yes of course that of Prime Minister…..

.the undercurrent here makes me look at the crisis as Maliki….then in the next breath they speak of “addressing terrorist attacks against Iraq…..left-handed opinion bleeding through here…but Maliki, political crisis, terrorist attacks….all seem to be bound in a bundle and tied with a neat bow…..

time to punt this garbage out of Iraq…..if the first goes….the others will die and wither on the vine….

I have fifty cents for senior coffee this morning at McD’s too.

Will stop here for now…..probably more later today
